Cricket Update!

St Lucian fans hoping to see a big performance from Darren Sammy yesterday - in his first international match on home soil - were left disappointed .

And Although I didn't attend, I was able caught a glimpse of the action on television.

It turned out that Sammy failed to take one Sri Lankan wicket from the ten overs (60 balls) that he bowled.

Fans were left even more disheatened after rain force a premature end to the game - preventing the West Indies from going to the crease.

One positive note coming out of the match however, was the large crowd of St Lucians who came out to support their island's first and only international cricket star.

St Lucians have, in the past, been accused of being all talk and no substance, when it comes to supporting their fellow-countrymen, but last night proved an exception.

So many people attended the match that there was confusion with the transportation arrangements out of the stadium.
